Centers and Groups

Buddhist Meditation Group Darmstadt

After the first encounters with Lamas and Drublas of the Dhagpo-Kagyü-Mandala in 1995, the Darmstadt Dharma group was formed. In 2001 the non-profit association was founded.

In 2003 we moved to our present centre, a 200 sqm ground floor in a central downtown location. Our large, well-equipped meditation room has a kitchen, living room and library. Another 50 sqm seminar room with kitchen is available for groups of other traditions.

On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays there are open meditation groups, on Thursdays Chenrezig Sadhana, at 7 p. m. each, on Saturdays at 6 a. m. Green Tārā Puja. In addition, there are practice days, lectures and weekend courses with lamas and drublas of the Kagyu tradition on different topics. Recurring offers over the year are e. g.: Full moon, Green Tārā, Chenrezig, Heart Sutra; chanting of the mantras; practice for the deceased, pujas at Christmas and at the turn of the year; film series (see also our homepage). In addition, there are many activities that are required to maintain the centre and the association. The financing is provided by membership fees, donations and contributions to the room costs. New members are welcome.

We want to learn to integrate more and more wisdom, love and compassion into our own everyday life, to build a community of practitioners for mutual support on the inner path and to enable interested people to meet, get to know and practice Buddha’s teachings.
