Dhagpo Kagyu Berlin

Dharma Group Berlin

As a Berlin-based group, we came together after the Easter course in 2002. Over the years, the number and composition of active participants in the group have changed repeatedly.

In the beginning, lamas of the Dhagpo Kagyu Mandala visited us for individual weekend courses. Then the wish arose to study the Dharma in a thorough and systematic way, and at our request the lamas Yeshe Sangmo and Sherab Palmo taught us over several years within the framework of a curriculum. These teachings were followed by instructions on mind training.

Currently, we meet on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. for Chenrezig practice and Shine meditation near Friedenau S-Bahn station, in the rooms of Karma Kagyu Norbu Pema Chöling.

For many years there has also been a study group that meets approximately every four weeks on Fridays at 7:00 pm in a hybrid format. We meet in person in various private locations in Berlin, and those for whom the journey is too far participate online. We read a text together, contemplate it, and exchange views. So far, for example, we have studied texts on view, the Mahamudra Prayer, the Bodhicaryavatara, and dependent origination.

About twice a year, we meet for a weekend with a drubla for joint Vajrasattva practice and for in-depth study of The Thirty-Seven Practices of Bodhisattvas.

Information about practice dates and related matters is distributed via an email mailing list, which anyone interested is welcome to join.
